James R. Freeman, 75 of Whitney, Texas, former resident of Arlington, Texas and Edwardsburg, was carried home in the loving arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ on May 1, 2014.

In his life he was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Shriners and a veteran of the Army

In his retirement, he loved travelling by RV with his loving wife, Marlene Freeman, was an advanced woodworker and wood-carver. He spent much time fishing and enjoying the friends he made that brought him so much joy.

His parents, Herbert and Eva Freeman and his niece, Jennifer Shay, preceded him in death.

Survivors: His most treasured wife, Marlene Freeman, daughters Kathee Barton, Diann King (Garry) and Barb Barton; sisters, Patricia Wilton (Erwin), Shelia Shay (E. James); brother-in-law Fred Aldrich (Sharon); grandsons, Erik Barton, Joshua King (Aubrey) and Rory King; nephews Gregory Wilton, Gary Wilton, EJ Shay and Joshua Wilton; niece Shelia Gail Buttrell (Greg).
