Sept. 27, 1919 — April 21, 2014

LaDema Gould, 94, passed away, April 21, 2014, in Mishawaka, Ind. LaDema was born on Sept. 27, 1919, in Dowagiac, to the late John and Victoria Stelmasiak.

On Sept. 16, 1939, she married Joseph Gould (deceased), at Holy Maternity Church in Dowagiac.

She is survived by her granddaughters Lori Schur of Mishawaka, Ind. and Julie (Kerry) Smith of Osceola, Ind. Also surviving is a son-in-law, Lenard Schur of Niles.

A daughter, Joyce Schur is deceased.

LaDema and Joe owned Gould’s Department store in Cassopolis and enjoyed dinners with their friends and evenings full of dancing.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. until the funeral mass at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014, at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church in Dowagiac.

Following the mass there will be a luncheon at Holy Maternity Hall.

Memorials may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church where LaDema was a long time parishioner.
