Don’t have to go far to explore

Throughout the centuries, world explorers were larger-than-life individuals who carved out unique legacies that became part of our heritage. Although the days of Juan Ponce De Leon and Christopher Columbus may be long gone, the opportunity for adventure and discovery remains right here close to home.

Leader Publications wants to help everyone — from life-long residents to first-time visitors — “Explore Michiana” this spring with a special publication that will showcase all the region’s communities and offer a snapshot of what makes them unique.

Every once in awhile I will get so excited that I will have to share some big news about a special project.

Guess what? This is one of those times.

For years Leader has printed “Answer Book” and “Summer Fun” publications. Both had strengths, but each needed to some new life.

So, the concept was simple: Combine two of our most popular products, magnifying the best parts and adding fresh content to give people a taste of what it’s like to live in and enjoy our communities all year long.

Thus, “Explore Michiana” was born.

Have you been a long-time supporter of the Answer Book? “Explore Michiana” features what made that publication so successful — and much more. Did you feel that “Summer Fun” was your niche? “Explore Michiana” expands on that concept to include more attractions, more communities and more distribution.

Ultimately, we want to let this publication tell the richly positive story about the entire region, helping all of its communities and businesses flourish in the process.

This will be a must-buy for virtually every business looking to grow its customer base, improve its branding or just show support for the region we call home.

The content will center on information that is essential to showcasing every major community including annual events, key destinations, historic attractions and the myriad other things that make each unique.

The product will reach more than 30,000 people through our publications and also be available at more than 150 high-traffic areas including visitors centers, chambers of commerce, real estate offices, hotels, restaurants, retail outlets and destination points.

Think this would be a good fit for your business? Let me or your sales representative know.

If you have lived here your entire life, this will be a way to see what you’ve been missing. If you are a tourist or newcomer, it will be your comprehensive guide to the things you must see and do. As a recent member of that latter category, I can say that something like this would have been very helpful when making the decision to move here and would still be when it comes to finding goods and services.

Ponce De Leon and Columbus would be proud of the local expeditions. Although the fountain of youth may not be around the corner, you might just be surprised at the new world waiting to be discovered.
