Barbara Ann York, 81, of Niles passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.

Barbara was born July 1, 1932, in Niles, Mich. to Russell and Fern (May) Shoemaker. On Jan. 11, 1974 she married Gerald York at a ceremony in Niles, MI.

She is survived by son; Rodney York, daughter; Hope, two brothers; Robert and Russell Shoemaker, sister; Mary Lowe, and four grandchildren.

Barb is preceded in death by her parents and son; Russell “Bill” York.

Funeral services for Barbara will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Visitation will be one hour prior from 1-2 p.m.
