Maxine Jane Dillon, age 94 years of Brooklyn Center, Minn. and formerly of Niles, died at 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2103 in Brooklyn Center.

She was born on May 13, 1919 in Kalamazoo, Mich. to George and Ruth (Fawley) Kilgore. She was graduated from high school in Kalamazoo, and was employed in the offices of the Kalamazoo Public Schools. She moved to Niles in 1965 with her husband, Paul who was manager of the former A & P Grocery Store. In 2009, Maxine moved to Brooklyn Center.

On Aug. 26, 1939 in Kalamazoo she married Paul E. Dillon. In 1965 they came to Niles where Paul was manager of the former A&P grocery store. They celebrated the forty-ninth anniversary of their wedding prior to his death on March 7, 1989.

Surviving family includes their sons, Daniel G. Dillon and Robert J. (Nancy) Dillon, both of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandchildren Caroline Dillon, Matthew (Tracy) Dillon, and Angela Waller; and great-granchildren Owen, Carlye, Abby, and Andrew.

The funeral service for Maxine Dillon will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with Don Fleischman of Fairland Christian Church officiating. Committal will be at Mission Hills.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Contributions in memory of Maxine may be made to Fairland Christian Church, 1811 Bluff St., Niles.
