Letter: Thanking my ‘angels’

Published 9:00 am Thursday, October 17, 2013

Last week, when it looked like ‘curtains’ to me, my son rushed me to the hospital where I met the most wonderful people, whom I call Angels.
I went to the emergency room when breathing became impossible.
The first angel there, Rich, took right over and got me stabilized. Then, two more angels, Dr. Huggett and Dr. Harrison, swooped in to order the life-saving care.
When I was stable enough to transfer to the hospital area, I met more angels like Sara, who has taken pictures of my heart since 2008 when they found the Atrial Mexoma (heart tumor) that took up most of my heart and left me very little to live on.
Then, Dr. Shawn Tittle, a wonderful Boston Specialist who was at Lakeland St. Joseph just in time for the surgery, removed the tumor and the center wall of my heart.
He put in a patch between the left and right sides of the heart.
For a small town, we have one of the greatest hospitals in the world (and I have been in a few).
Thanks to all of you for your service and dedication.
