Virginia K. Curtis, 93, of St. Petersburg, died Wed. July 10 at Bayfront Hospital Hospice.

Born Dec. 30 1919 in Niles, Mich., she was the daughter of Herbert and Cleo Pletcher Forbes. Virginia retired from Simplicity Pattern Company in Niles, Mich. She was a member of St. Giles Episcopal Church in Pinellas Park; and was a seven time past president and founding board member of Americana Cove in St. Petersburg. She married the late Manley Curtis in August of 1940; he died April of 1995. Virginia is survived by her sons Stephen (Peggy) Curtis of South Bend, Ind., and Mark D. Curtis of Niles, Mich., daughters Mary (Lynn) Speck of Clearwater, Fla., Nan E. (Ken) Olney of Wayland Mich., Diane K (Tom) Filstrup of St. Petersburg Fla., Andrea G. (Rob) Wetmore of St. Petersburg, Fla., Lorraine A. (David) Casey of St. Petersburg, Fla., Elizabeth F. (Tim) Winquist of Niles, Mich., sister Joan M. McMenamin of Port Richey, Fla., 22 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Virginia is predeceased by her son Edward M. Curtis and her daughter Margaret “Peggy” Litty.
