Douglas “Doug” Thompson, 33, of Niles passed away in Amarillo, Texas on June 11, 2013.

Doug was born on Aug. 26, 1979 to the late Edward and Veva Thompson in Amarillo, Texas. Doug was one of five children growing up in the Thompson household. Doug later moved to Niles, Mich., where he raised and enjoyed spending time with his two children.

He is preceded in death by his father, Edward “Gene” Thompson, and mother, Veva Thompson.

Doug is survived by the mother of his children Sandra Thompson of Amarillo, Texas, his two children Sean and Shyanna Thompson, his sister Vicky Devine of Niles, Mich., his brother Edward Jr. Thompson of Amarillo, Texas, his sister Lou Ann Moore of Stevensville, Mich., his sister Nikki Sharma of Niles, Mich., and his eight nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Doug will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Swem Chapel at 1:30 p.m. in Buchanan, Mich.
