Sylvia Ruth (Carlson) Downing, 82, of Clarkston, formerly of Niles, died April 21, 2013.

She is the mother of Carl Downing, Lisa Downing and Lori (John) Zimcosky.

She was preceded in death by her son Aaron.

She is the grandma of John and Brian Zimcosky; sister of Annie (John) Stark, the late Joan Stone and Carol (Gene) Kozlovich; daughter of the late Margaret and Carl “Rube” Carlson.

Sylvia loved gardening and animals. She considered her pets as “grandchildren.”

At her request, no formal services will be held.
