Edward “Levi” Schoff, 58

Born: March 21, 1955

Died: March 30, 2013

Levi’s life began on March 21, 1955, in Dowagiac, the son of Edward G. and Donnabelle M. (Sibley) Schoff.  He was a 1973 graduate of Dowagiac Union High School.

He was united in marriage to his wife of 36 years Maudie May Smith in 1976 in Dowagiac.

Levi loved to fish, hunt, cut wood and go scrapping.

His loving family includes: his wife Maudie of Dowagiac,; daughter Tammy (Joe) Slabaugh; grandchildren, Zach, Blake, Megan and Logan; his mother, Donnabelle Schoff of Decatur; sisters, Donna Reist of Vandalia, Sally (Jerry) Lundy, Brenda (Rick) Janssen, Nancy (Rob) True, Tina (Terry) Jarvis and Ruth (Tim) Williams of Dowagiac, May Willwrick of Grand Junction, Candy (Jim) Haas and Darlene (Mark) Hoekstra of Decatur, Diana (Michael) Wright of Marcellus and Pam Townsend of Ohio; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Levi passed away on Saturday March 30, at Borgess Medical Center from injuries sustained in a traffic accident.

He is preceded in death by his father in 2001 and his brother Charles in 1995.

His family will gather with friends on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon at Calvary Bible Church, where his funeral service will be at 12 led by Pastor Stacy Wilder.  He will be laid to rest in South Wayne Cemetery.  Yazel and Clark Chapel is serving the family.
