Cecilia B. Norred Burger, 69, of Norred Court, Niles, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 2:53 p.m. on Good Friday, March 29, 2013, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Ind.  She was born Jan. 23, 1944, in Michigan City, Ind., to George and Vera (Guehn) Vogeley.

On Oct. 22, 1971, Cecilia married William C. “Bill” Norred, who preceded her in death on Feb.3, 1995.  She later married Devon Burger, who survives.

Also surviving are sons, William N. “Nelson” (and Sandra) Norred of Sharpsburg, Ga., Jimmy Ray (and Kathy) Norred, of Hogansville, Ga., and Michael J. (and Lynn) Norred, of Niles; daughters, Terri Lynn (and Anthony) Eckstein, of Niles, and Linda “Sue” (and Jeff VanKirk) True, of Niles; Devon’s children, Allen Burger and Devon Burger Jr., both of South Bend, Ind., Elaine (and Steve) Porter, of Niles, Jody Evans, of Mishawaka, and special daughter, Peggy Sue Reed, of Mishawaka, 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are Cecilia’s sisters, Evelyn Hatfield, of Pinellas Park, Fla., Patricia (and Norm) Kukla of South Bend, Ind., and Linda Luke of New Carlisle, Ind.

Cecilia was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill, and son, Paul “Dougie” Norred.

Cecilia was a popular and well-loved waitress in the Niles area, beginning at Buddy’s Bar and eventually spending 30 years at Jay’s Lounge.  She enjoyed shooting pool and was a member of the American Poolplayers Association.  She liked to play the penny slot machines and especially loved her pugs, Precious, Sweet Pea and Mojo.

Funeral services for Cecilia B. Norred Burger will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the Michiana Christian Embassy with Pastor Jeffery L. Whittaker of the church officiating.  Interment will take place privately at a later date in Silverbrook Cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
