Roy V. “Whitey” Sevison, 84, of Edwardsburg, passed away at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Riverside Village.

He was born May 15, 1928 in Elkhart to Harry and Etola (Lane) Sevison.

On July 22, 1950 in Angola, Ind. he married Helen K. Clausen. She preceded him in death on June 7, 2001 in Elkhart.

Surviving is a son, Ronald (Margaret) Sevison of Niles, a daughter, Barbara (Larry Pappas) Sevison of Elkhart, two grandchildren, Robert Sevison of South Bend and Brian Sevison of Niles.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Sevison.

Whitey graduated in 1946 from Elkhart High School. In his earlier years he enjoyed racing Midgets and Stock Cars. He also was a musician and played in a band. Whitey was formerly employed as a machinist at Jessen Manufacturing and was the owner/operator of the Fireside Inn in Edwardsburg from 1972-1994.

Friday a procession will form at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m.  A graveside service will take place at 1 p.m. Friday at Rice Cemetery. Pastor Clearence Dycus will preside.
