Mary’s life began on July 30, 1939, in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of Alex and Dorothy (Cummings) Hunziker.

Her professional life was supported by her education at Stevens College, Olivet College and Michigan State University.

The Sister Lakes resident’s first real job was with the South Bend Tribune in 1963 as receptionist and secretary to the managing editor.

In 1966, she began her work in customer service with Clark Equipment and eventually moved into sales where she covered Clark’s plants in Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky and North Carolina.

In 1984, she came to Arnold Corp., with was acquired by Reynolds and Reynolds, then later Relizon Corp., where she worked for 17 years.

With Mary’s vivacious personality and positive team attitude, she proved to be very successful in her role as a sales representative.

Mary enjoyed being outdoors and staying physically active. She loved traveling and was an avid golfer and downhill skier. Mary also enjoyed spending hours reading her favorite novels.

Always busy, her husband Craig often commented that Mary could out-work 10 grown men.

Mary was pragmatic, warm, sweet and bright-eyed all wrapped up into a petite package. She was a delight to be with and an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Mary leaves her spot on Earth filled with love and wonderful memories to be shared by all.

Mary is survived by: her husband of 47 years, Craig McCoy; children, Robin (Todd) Wilson of Dowagiac and Kim (Mike) Zomer of Caledonia; grandchildren, Christy (Jesse) Jansma, Tyler (Sarah) McCoy Chad McCoy, Brandon Wilson, Kendra Wilson, Regan Zomer and Josie Zomer; brothers, James Hunziker of Florida, and Jerry (Pam) Hunziker; of Niles and several nieces and nephews.

Mary passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at her home surrounded by the love of her family.

She is preceded in death by a son, Mark McCoy.

Her family will gather with friends on Friday, March 22, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Yazel and Clark Chapel, where her funeral service will be led by Pastor John Kasper on Saturday, March 23, at 11 a.m.

Memorial contributions in Mary’s name may be directed to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, the West Michigan Cancer Center or Cass County Council on Aging-Front Street Crossing.
