Alden D. “Shorty” Camp, 84, of Niles, passed away on Feb. 20, 2013, at Lakeland Specialty Hospital in Berrien Center of natural causes.

He was born April 4, 1928, in Niles, to Robert and Elta (Shaffer) Camp. He was a lifetime area resident and was employed as a machinist. On June 15, 1963, in Cassopolis, he married Betty Lou Camp, who has preceded him in death. His parents and one sister, Donna Richman, also have preceded him in death.

Surviving family include one son, Thomas Decker, of Cassopolis; two daughters, Sarah (Milt) Kley, of Plymouth, and Susan (Gregg) Miller, of Buchanan; eight
Grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Camp, of Niles; and several nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Hoven Funeral Home Inc. of Buchanan is handling the arrangements for the family.
