William “Bill” J. Suski, 71

William (Bill) James Suski, 71, residing in Niles, passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 in his home.  He was born Jan. 17, 1942 to the late Stanley and Alice (Rybecki) Suski.

“Bill” is survived by his children, Pamela (Paul) Cherioli & Jeffery Suski and Michael (Kimberly) Suski & Kimberly (Douglas) Finley; siblings, Stanley (Iva) Suski, Betty (Paul) Winslow, Ralph (Diane) Suski, Anthony (Kaye) Suski and Mary (Gerry) Hanna; brother-in-law, Joe Hess Sr.; sister-in-law, Sandra Suski; grandchildren, Douglas Finley, Travis Suski, Ian Cherioli, Katlyn Suski, Dillon Finley, Maxwell Cherioli and Drake Finley; and many nieces and nephews.  He will be missed by many, especially best friends, Jim Atkins and his golfing buddy, Joe Hess Sr.  Preceding Bill in death were siblings, Frank Suski, Irene Hess, Nancy (Sam) Gambee, Dan Suski and Paul Suski; and grandson, Kane Alexander Cherioli.

Bill made his home in Niles, just a mile from where he was raised. He attended Edwardsburg High School and retired from Fairmont Homes in Nappanee. Bill was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and a member of the Elkhart Moose. He was an avid golfer, and loved NASCAR.  Bill loved cheering on the Detroit Lions.  He enjoyed creating things through gardening, remodeling and carpentry.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger.  Graveside services and burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.  Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 in the Palmer Funeral Home – Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, as well as 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday in church prior to mass.  Friends and family are also invited back to St. Pius X Catholic Church following graveside services for a luncheon and time of remembrance.
