Timothy L. Burgess, 55, of Hickory Street, Niles, died on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at Lakeland Community Hospital, Niles unexpectedly, but of natural causes. He was born Sept. 22, 1957, in St. Joseph to Leon and Joyce (Stickland) Burgess. On Feb.14, 1992, in St. Joseph, he married the former Ingrid Pallot; she survives.

Timothy was a 1975 graduate of Benton Harbor High School and loved to play baseball and softball. He was an avid Cubs fan and loved all Notre Dame sports. Timothy enjoyed fishing and more recently playing video games, especially war-related games to help with his rehabilitation. He would spend his time reading history books.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Casey Guzman; his mother, Joyce Burgess; stepsons, Brian (and Bobbie Jo) Allred of Ovid, Robert (and  fiance Michelle) Allred, of Niles, and Michael (Vincent) Allred of Niles; eight grandchildren; and Timothy’s brothers, Tony (and Cindy) Burgess, of Sodus, Terry (and Sandy) Burgess, of Watervliet, and Keith (and Anna) Burgess of Brunswick, Ohio; andsisters, Tammy (and Ray) Snyder and Tracy Burgess (O’Hare), both of Benton Harbor.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Burgess, and a daughter, Courtney Burgess.

The funeral service for Timothy Burgess will be at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan.

2, 2013, at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles with Rev. Randy Pearman of Bethel Baptist Church officiating.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 4 p.m.
