Ruth’s life began on Oct. 6, 1937, in Sikeston, Mo., the daughter of Carl “Pete” and Pauline Elliott. She was united in marriage to Richard McAbee.

Her loving family includes: her husband Richard of Coldwater, Miss.; children, James E. (Pauline) Conrad of Vinita, Okla., Diana Ray of Oklahoma, Victoria (Mark) Bell of Saginaw, Texas and Amy (Gary) Kuseske of Dowagiac; a stepson, Dennis (Lori) McAbee of South Bend, Ind; grandchildren, Nathan (Pia) Bell of Guam, Whitney Ray, Kelsey Ray and Jordan Bell, all of Texas, Dustin Kuseske and McKenzie Kuseske of Dowagiac and Carlen Ray of Texas; great-grandchildren, Kaliya Johnson of Texas and Jacob Bell of Guam; and a sister, Barbara (Ralph) Cloud of Dowagiac.
Ruth passed away on Wednesday Dec. 19, 2012, at Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital, Dowagiac.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Betty Williams.
Her family will gather with friends at Yazel-Clark Chapel on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon. Officiating will be Pastor Casey Helmuth.
