Born: March 21, 1993

ELKHART, Ind. — Gabriel James Spencer Forsythe, 19, of Elkhart, was born March 21, 1993 in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, to Michael Forsythe and Laurel Spencer Forsythe.

Gabe always had the best advice and wisdom for others. He was kind and generous.  He was intelligent and an excellent worker. He enjoyed fishing, making ceramics, doing bike tricks and go-carting. Family and friends will miss hearing him singing, one of his favorite things to do. His aumakua — his spiritual animal — was the he honu — the turtle. He always carried a picture of his family in his wallet because he loved them very much. Gabriel also had a strong connection to his Savior.

Gabriel will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Michael Forsythe and Laurel Spencer Forsythe; two sisters, Isabella Forsythe, Sophia Forsythe; and one brother, Ben Black, all of Elkhart, Ind.; one aunt and uncle, Priscilla and Rick Golz of Hewitt, Wisconsin; and uncle, Robert Spencer of Hawaii.

Family and friends will gather at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, in Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Elkhart, 1732 Garden S., Elkhart.

The family prefers memorial contributions to the Salvation Army, 300 North Main St., Elkhart, Ind. 46516.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis. Online condolences may be posted at wagnercares.com.
