Marilyn Ann Wetterow, 75, of Edwardsburg, died at 11 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles following a brief illness.

She was born Nov. 29, 1936, in South Bend to Alex and Margaret Ann (Bella) Nagy.  She was employed tending the bar at the former Uptown Restaurant of Edwardsburg, and at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2284 in Edwardsburg.

Marilyn’s greatest interest was caring for her family, who remember her as a devoted grandmother.

On Dec. 19, 1995, in Carson City, Mich., she married Ernie Chorba, who preceded her in death on May 18, 1912. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Fred Nagy.

Surviving family includes her children, Tony Cox of Edwardsburg, and Vince Nagy of South Bend; grandchildren Dustin Nagy, Sara Cox, Ashley Cox, David Troxel and Daniel Troxel; and great-grandchildren, Cole, Caleb, Braden and Zane.

The family of Marilyn Wetterow invites all of her relatives and friends to join them at the Edwardsburg VFW on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 3 until 6 p.m. to share memories of Marilyn and celebrate her life.

Contributions in memory of Marilyn may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Arrangements were made at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
