Jazmyne Marie Jean Rodriquez, 15, of Niles, formerly of Dowagiac, passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Her life began Sept. 7, 1997, in Niles, where she was born to Fred C. Gross III and Charmin J. Burns.

She attended Niles High School, where she was a freshman. Jazmyne enjoyed spending time outdoors camping and fishing.

She also liked, even as a young girl, putting on makeup and her time cheerleading and singing in the choir.

She was also a gifted artist and loved to draw and sew.

All who knew Jazmyne loved her, especially small children. In only 15 years she made an impact on those who she came in contact with that will last a lifetime. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy!

Jazmyne was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Fred Gross Jr. and Berneth “Boots” Dokey; maternal grandparents, Charles B. and Lois J. Burns; and a cousin, Charles Burns.

She is survived by her father, Fred C. Gross III (Genny Cripe) of Niles; her mother, Charmin J. Burns-Wood (James E. Ferrier) of Niles;  siblings, Dakota, Sonny, Fred IV and Shyanne Gross, all of South Bend, Joshua (Jeanine) Northrop, Ryan (Brittany) Ferrier, Shane White, Antonio Rodriquez II, and Savanah Wood, all of Dowagiac; aunts, Cherrie (Kevin) Kaiser of Dowagiac, Mary (Gary) Anders of Three Rivers, Malisa Burns of Texas, Teresa Burns of Ohio, Michelle Burns of Hartford, Farrah Gross and Cassaundra Hollendersky, both of South Bend, and Latisha (Kenneth) Tomsa of South Haven; uncles, Chuckie Burns of Athens, William (Jennifer) Litka of Buchanan and James (Tiffany) Jaynes of Niles; a special friend, Jamie Gross; and a host of cousins and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Jazmyne’s life will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, at 2 p.m. with visitation beginning at noon at Brown Funeral Home, 521 E. Main St. in Niles.
