Gertrude Johnson

Gertrude (Leach) Johnson, our angel, formerly of Elkhart, left this earth at 11:30 p.m. in McKinney, Texas, on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, to be with her

Johnson

heavenly father.

She was the most loving, caring, wonderful, wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, cousin, aunt and friend. She was not only beautiful inside, but her smile could light up a room. If you were blessed to know her, you couldn’t help but love her.

She graduated from Niles High School in 1941. She married Harold Johnson in Fort Worth, Texas, on Aug. 16, 1948. She was a branch manager at St. Joe Valley Bank and retired after 25 years of service. Her husband survives with two daughters, Cindy (Michael) Neff, of McKinney, and Brenda Losee, of Elkhart; and two grandsons, Brandon and Cory Losee, of West Linn, Ore.

Preceding Gertrude in passing were her father and mother, Hazel and Adrian Leach; sisters, Evelyn, Elizabeth, Annabelle, Joyce; and brothers Albert, Frank, Robert and Frederick, with Harold (John) and Wilma surviving.

There is a void in our hearts that will last our lifetime, but knowing that she is with her mother now, who she hasn’t seen since she was 9 years old, helps us to find some peace.

A private family memorial will take place in Fort Worth, Texas at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Alzheimer’s or Hospice.
