Poll Native Americans

To the editor:

During this election campaign for both parties, Democrat and Republican, I hear all about the polls they are coming up with.

Like how many women, compared to men, are going to vote for either party. How many gays, compared to straight people, are going to vote. How many Hispanics, compared to African Americans, are going to vote.

But there is one part of our majority which seems to be left out of all polls, like they have been left out of most political or economic decisions when it comes to any change taking place in America. They are, I guess, considered the minority: our Native Americans.

Why is it when something like an election or any other American tradition we forget about the people who were here before any of us? If Native Americans don’t vote I don’t blame them.

The next time we sing God bless the USA, why don’t we also say, “God bless everyone?”
