Doris Mae Jurgensen, 87, of Holland, passed away Thursday Aug. 16, 2012, at her home at Freedom Village of Holland.

Doris was born July 7, 1925, in Dowagiac to Fred and Eunice (Hirsch) McKenzie. She graduated from Dowagiac High School. Prior to living at Freedom Village for the last 18 years, Doris and her husband, John, lived in Kalamazoo for over forty years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jurgensen, in 2009.

She is survived by her sons, David (Sophia) Jurgensen, of Holland, and Brad (Victoria) Jurgensen, of Saline; and her four grandchildren, Andrew, Megan, Zoe and Dimitri.

Cremation will take place and private family services will be held.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Freedom Village Scholarship Fund.
