Ralph H. Freevol, 96, of Holland, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012 at The Inn at Freedom Village.

Ralph was born in Oak Park, Ill., on March 11, 1916. He graduated from Byford High School in Chicago and attended Illinois Institute of Technology.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Niles.

His interests included sailing, golfing, fishing and building houses and enjoyed wintering in Port Isabel, Texas.

When spoken to, Ralph’s favorite response was “Indubitably.” He was a professional mechanical engineer and retired from Garden City Fan in Niles as vice president of engineering. Ralph and his wife moved to Holland in 1997.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, in 2006, and a son-in-law, Michael, in 2006.

He is survived by his children: Karen Drain of South Bend, William and Lois Freevol of Plainwell and Bart and Michael Freevol of Pahrump, Nev.; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. A private burial will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery in Kalamazoo at a later date.
