Metalwork, jewelry, paintings, drawings, fabric art, digital photography and fashion come together in an explosion of color and design as the Box Factory for the Arts opens exhibits in all three galleries on Aug. 10. An artist reception will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m, for the exhibits, which run through Sept. 23.

The Robert Williams Gallery will feature the husband and wife team of Peter Jones, Digital Photography, and Gwen Jones, Fiber Art. The couple share studio space on the Box Factory’s lower level.

Two other studio artists, Mary Burke, Paintings and Drawings, and Vicki Cook, Metalwork and Jewelry, will show their work in the Heartha Whitlow Gallery.

“The Winners’ Showcase” of Fashion on the Shore will be featured in the Riverwalk Gallery. Displayed on mannequins will be the winning fashion designs by student designers from colleges and design schools in the Chicago, northwest Indiana and southwest Michigan. The showcase is sponsored by Shore magazine, Southwestern Michigan Tourist Council, the Boulevard Inn and Bistro. Photographs included with the exhibit are by Studio Artist Jennifer Mayo.

The exhibits and reception are free and open to the public with refreshments from Boulevard at the Bistro and Tabor Hill Winery will be served the night of the opening.
