Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge, aka the “Fabulous Beekman Boys,” traveled 25,000 miles through nine countries to win the Amazing Race on CBS in late 2012. And, early in October, the Beekman Boys will be traveling to Fernwood Botanical Gardens and Nature Preserve. They will be there from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 5. Tickets are going fast so if you want to be part of the experience, make sure you contact Fernwood soon.
Josh and Brent’s visit is part of Fernwood’s “Year of Taste,” which has featured a wide array of programming related to our sense of taste and its connection to the garden.
Be one of the first to experience The Beekman Boys’ new cookbook, Heirloom Desserts, as Josh and Brent present a lively lecture about their experiences leading an heirloom life while discussing their new cookbook.
Lecture includes a sampling of select heirloom desserts, and Josh and Brent will be available to sign your Beekman 1802 books and merchandise after their talk.
Make it a day and enjoy a box lunch from the Fernwood Café from noon–1 p.m. (box lunch $10 plus tax).
The lecture is $50 or $40 for Fernwood members.
