Wine Spectator magazine has named LaSalle Grill, 115 W. Colfax Ave. in South Bend, one of the 2012 Award of Excellence winners for the ninth consecutive year. The award is part of the Grand Award Honor Program and recognizes restaurants that feature a wine list of 100 or more quality selections that match a restaurant’s cuisine.

“The best of meals can be made even better with a great wine, and at LaSalle Grill we go above and beyond to help our customers experience the best in dining, wines, and spirits,” says Mark McDonnell, founder and proprietor. “We’ve been serving the Michiana area for more than 20 years, and receiving this award for almost a decade now encourages us to continue our work developing a superior selection of vintages from around the world for our customers.”

Since 1981, Wine Spectator has honored the   world’s best wine lists, with the Grand Award representing the program’s top echelon. The Grand Award winners generally offer 1,500 or more selections, with superior breadth and depth in many of the world’s classic wine-producing regions.
