CASSOPOLIS — A rollover crash Sunday night on M-51 South in Wayne Township resulted in one injury.

Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reported Christina Lara, 30, of Dowagiac, was northbound on M-51 at 7:20 p.m. when she lost control of her vehicle south of M-152 due to a passenger becoming distressed.

Her vehicle left the road, overturned and struck a sign and a tree.

The passenger was injured in the crash and taken by Pride Care ambulance to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac for treatment. No one else was hurt.

Deputies said it was not known if occupants used safety belts or alcohol may have been a factor. This case remains under investigation. Dowagiac Police Department assisted the sheriff’s office.
