Kerry Joe Burdue, 53, of Niles, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, in Niles, unexpectedly. He was born March 17, 1959, in Niles to Jerald V. and Mary Ann (Green) Burdue.

Kerry graduated from Niles High School in 1977.

He was a master electrician and the owner and operator of the BCP Motorcycle Repair Shop in Niles.

He worked at Burdue Electric and Southwestern Michigan College in maintenance. He developed his own unique designs for off-road vehicles, winning several awards and being featured in auto magazines and the Nov. 22, 1995, edition of the Niles Daily Star newspaper.

Kerry was a true friend; was a caring brother to his sister; was a father figure to his nephew; loved his family pets; always did a top-notch job on any of his projects; and knew nature soothed the soul.

Kerry is survived by his parents, Jerald and Mary Ann Burdue; fiancee, Miki King; sister, Marcy Burdue; and nephew, Jerrid Burdue, all of Niles.

A celebration of Kerry’s life will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 34 Sycamore St., Niles, at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12.
