Boat safety courses offered

CASSOPOLIS — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office will hold several Michigan DNR Boaters Safety Courses throughout Cass County this spring and summer.
The boating safety certificate is available for students older than 12.
Register by calling the sheriff’s office at (269) 445-1240. Registrants will need name, address, phone number and date of birth.
All classes start at 8 a.m. and should be done by 2 p.m.
Bring a No. 2 pencil, a sack lunch and something to drink.
Anyone born after Dec. 31, 1978, must have a boating safety certificate to operate a personal watercraft, although it is recommended adults who have not taken the course should do so.

• May 12 at Midway Marine, 50663 M-152 in Dowagiac
• May 26 at Donnell Lake Conservation Dlub, 16900 Lakeview Drive in Vandalia
• June 2 at Howard Township Fire Department sponsored by Barron Lake Assocation, 2681 E. Detroit Rd. in Niles
• June 9 at Donnell Lake Conservation Club, 16900 Lakeview Drive in Vandalia
• June 16 at Eagle Lake Marine, 68777 Avenue A in Edwardsburg
• June 24 at Diamond Lake Yacht Club, 21316 Shore Acres Rd in Cassopolis
• June 30 at Cass County Conservation Club, 13710 U.S. 12 in Union
• July 7 at Hudson Memorial Building, 179 North Jones in Marcellus
• July 14 at the Donnell Lake Conservation Club, 116900 Lakeview Drive in Vandalia
