CASSOPOLIS — The following activities are scheduled the Cass County Council on Aging in April:
April 2 and 16, Mondays: Quilting Club. Use or develop your quilting skills to make items for donation to groups in need. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
April 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25 and 30, Mondays and Wednesdays: Let’s Move. This new class combines stretching, balance, and range of motion exercises to help improve mobility. 9:45 to 10:15 Cost is $15 per month.
April 3, 10, 17 and 24, Tuesdays: Computer Class. Learn computer basics from volunteer instructor Tim Wiggins on your laptop or our computer lab. Free class runs for six weeks (no class May 1) and meets Tuesdays beginning at 11 a.m.
April 4, Wednesday: Organizing Financial Paperwork. Learn how to organize important papers so they are easy to find when they are needed. Presented by Kit Wruble, AVP/branch manager of Chemical Bank in Edwardsburg. Registration is required for this program. 12:30 p.m.
April 4, 11, 18 and 25, Wednesdays: Cribbage Club. Open to Cribbage players of all skill levels, play begins at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays.
April 5 to May 10, Thursdays: Creating Confident Caregivers. Caregiving class for families of people with Alzheimer’s disease. For more information or to register, call (269) 445-8110. 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
April 5, Thursday: Easter Dinner. Join us for traditional feast to celebrate Easter. Music performed by Frannie and Denny. Atmosphere is free, lunch costs about $5. Noon.
April 5, Thursday: Medication Drop-off. Bring in unused, expired or unwanted medications for proper disposal from 10 a.m. to noon. Medications must be in their original, labeled containers and signed in when dropped off. Medications will not be accepted at any other time.
April 5, 12, 19 and 26, Thursdays: Dance Club. Dance to a variety of musical styles and enjoy the fellowship of friends. 9 a.m.
April 9, Monday: Dyngus Day. This day is traditionally about politics and Polish food. Lunch costs about $5. Noon.
April 9, Monday: Brain Aerobics. “Fitness for your Mind” exercises the brain and stimulates neurons. This is a free class, but you must register due to space limitations. This class is open to everyone. 10 a.m. to noon. Same class is repeated on Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Dowagiac.
April 9, Monday: Computer Assistance. Friendly volunteers from the Cass District Library will help individuals with computer issues in our redesigned Information Center. Use our computers of ring your laptop. 1 to 3 p.m.
April 10, Tuesday: Parkinson’s & You. Get the latest on Parkinson’s research and treatment from Dr. Kelvin Chou, associate professor, departments of neurology and neurosurgery at University of Michigan Medical School. Sponsored by Medtronic Neuromodulation. 1 p.m.
April 13, Friday: Trivia Night. Teams of up to 10 people compete in Trivia to benefit Handy Helpers. Registration is required, cost is $125 per team. Game begins at 6:30 p.m.
April 13, 20 and 27, Fridays: Knitting and Crocheting. The group is open to anyone who likes to knit or crochet, regardless of skill level. They share techniques, stories and fun while knitting items to donate to charity. 10 a.m. to noon.
April 19, Thursday: Senior Safety Update. Michigan’s Senior Brigade returns with information on home repair and equity scams, investment fraud. 1 p.m.
April 20, Friday: Book Club. The “Read and Share” will discuss “Unbroken” by Laura Hillenbrand. 1 p.m.
