John A. Duminie, 77, of Woods Edge Drive, in Niles, died at 6 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2011 at Riveridge Manor in Niles following an illness.

He was born on Feb. 21, 1934 in Chicago to Henry and Alice A. (Sylvain) Duminie, Sr.

He attended Englewood High School in Chicago and had a long-standing career selling automobiles for several dealerships in the Chicago area. John was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Catholic church.

Surviving family includes his children, Dwight Duminie of Linwood, Ill., Bryon (Debbie) Duminie of Lake Village, Ind. and several grandchildren. John is also survived by his mother, Alice Duminie of Niles; brothers and sister, Leon (Regina) Duminie of Calumet City, Ill., Marsha Duminie-Hayes of Chicago, Henry (Phyllis) Duminie, Jr. of Cassopolis and several nieces and nephews.

The Catholic Funeral Liturgy for John A. Duminie will be read at the chapel of Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Worth, Ill. by Deacon John Flanagan of Saint Germaine Catholic Church in Oak Lawn, Ill., with the family gathering privately.

They will also be gathering at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.

No public events will be offered.
