Kay F. Noble, 77, of Southworth Drive in Niles, died at 4:14 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, Ind. of an extended illness.

Mrs. Noble was born Nov. 28, 1933 in Niles to Harold H. and Hazel P. (Smith) Vanderboegh. She was a lifetime resident of Niles.
Kay was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Niles and the Loyal Order of the Moose 449 in Buchanan. She was an avid golfer, having purchased her first set of golf clubs at the Ping Factory in Scottsdale, Ariz. She was a member of the B.P.O. of Elks and participated in the Elks Ladies Golf League at Plym Park. She was a two-time winner of the Ladies Class “A” City Golf Championship and had three holes-in-one.
She was also an avid gardener and loved to bird watch. She enjoyed spending time with her family and following their sports activities.
On Nov. 23, 1950 in Blackstone, Va., she married Richard E. Noble, who survives.
Surviving family also includes their sons, Richard E. (Cheryl) Noble, Jr. and David L. (Ivana) Noble, and a daughter, Debbie (Kevin) Asmus, all of Niles; grandchildren, Beth Kopperud, Dacia (Brett Parks) Asmus, Kayla (Steve) Bella and Chris Noble; great-granddaughter, Arleigh Kay Bella; siblings, Lynn J. Spitzer, Larry L. Vanderboegh, Phillip D. Vanderboegh, Ronald G. Vanderboegh, all of Niles, and David L. Vanderboegh of Luther, Mich.l; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Hazel Vanderboegh; brothers, Ronald H., Bruce J. and Danny D. Vanderboegh.
Funeral services for Kay F. Noble will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with the Rev. Edward H. Slate of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
