Jimmie Wayne “Jim” Blough, 50, of Houston, Texas and formerly of Edwardsburg, died at 1:45 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2011 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston following an extended illness.

He was born June 28, 1960 in South Bend to LaVern Wayne and Elizabeth Anne (Houston) Blough. He was raised in Edwardsburg and graduated from Edwardsburg high School in 1978. He served in the United States Air Force from 1979 until 1983.

Jim has been employed by Chuck E. Cheese’s for 20 years, moving to various cities to establish new restaurants.

He enjoyed golfing, skiing and riding dirt bikes. He was a great fan of the Chicago Cubs baseball team, making a point to attend every year’s opening game, whether home or away.

Surviving family includes his parents, Wayne and Anne Blough of Edwardsburg; his sisters and brothers Sue (Devon) Mikel of Edwardsburg, Leanne (Pat) Fruth of Carey, Ohio, David (Judy) Blough of Elkhart, Beth (Scott) Burger of Niles, Jon (Laura) Blough of Edwardsburg, Wayne (Kim) Blough of Puyallup, Wash., Brenda Blough of Newark, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. He was previously married to Robin Rohlf.

The funeral service for Jim Blough will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 19 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with Pastor C. Fred Felty, associate minister of the First Church of God in Niles, officiating.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6 until 8 p.m Friday at the funeral home.
