Vera Marie Mullins, 80, of Buchanan, died at 5:08 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011 at her daughter’s home in Buchanan of natural causes.

She was born Oct. 5, 1930 in Buchanan. She was a lifetime resident.

She was a homemaker and member of the Ladies of the Moose Lodge in Buchanan.

Vera married Eugene H. Mullins on May 28, 1949 in Rossville, Ga. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1986.

She was also preceded in death by both parents, Marvin and Irene Heckathorn; two daughters, Patty Capps and Sharon Crocker; a brother, Marvin Heckathorn; and a sister, Della Mae Goldsmith.

She is survived by a son, Gary (Charlene) Mullins of Galien; daughters, Pam (Vern) Hall of Buchanan, Cheryl (Robert) Culp of Niles and Sue (Bill) Mansfield of Niles; a sister-in-law, Alma Mullins of Niles; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 4 at Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan with Bishop Alfred Deeds of Bethel Apostolic Tabernacle in Buchanan officiating.

Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan.
