James E. Boulton, 67, of East Main Street, Niles, died at 3:50 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010 at Lakeland Community Hospital, Niles following a brief illness.

He was born May 29, 1943 in Niles to Edward Boulton and Almarion J. (Douglas) Boulton. He graduated from Niles High School and lived there all of his life.

He was first employed by Simplicity Pattern Co. in Niles for 20 years. She then worked briefly at the former Avanti Automobiles in South Bend, and was then employed at the former Vertis Advertising, Niles for 18 years.

He enjoyed working with Perry Fireworks on evening and holiday shows for 20 years. He was an avid reader of history, especially of The Byzantine, and traveled throughout the United States.

He was an avid White Sox and University of Notre Dame fan and attended many games, including away games.

He is survived by his sisters, Susan Roberts and Nancy Korp of Niles; nieces and nephews, Jamie Hall, Marlena Altwine, Deborah Nieb, Joseph Korp and Chris Korp.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010 at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with the Rev. Daniel Miller of First Missionary Church officiating.

Burial will be at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Evening prayers will be held at 5:45 p.m. Monday at Halbritter Funeral Home by the Rev. Sasa Nedic of Saints Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fernwood Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve.
