Alice Jones, 98, a resident of Russellville, Ark., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at her home.

She was born Feb. 27, 1912, at Ogilvie, Minn., to Helmer John and Bessie Claude Dewey Hedberg.

She was the oldest surviving sibling of the seven Hedberg children.

At the age of 27, Alice moved to California, where she met and married Karl Joseph Jones on June 1, 1942.

She enjoyed painting and began painting in the Florida Keys.

She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Samuel Paul Jones; three brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors include: two daughters and a son-in-law, Suzan Katherine Jones of Russellville and Nancy and Joseph Zeniewicz of Livonia, Mich.; a daughter-in-law, Sally Jones of Russellville; six grandchildren, Karl Raymond Jones of Russellville, Kevin William Jones of Roswell, Ga., Kenneth Hoyt Jones of Westminster, Md., Karen Lynn Ake of Van Meter, Iowa, Kimberly Ellen Plested of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Paul Timothy Zeniewicz of Orlando, Fla.; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are private and are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service, Russellville.
