David Brown, 68

David B. Brown, 68, of White Settlement, Texas, passed away Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010.

David was born Nov. 26, 1941, in Niles to Adeline and Vernon Brown. He was raised in Niles and graduated from Niles High School in 1960.

David joined the U.S. Air Force in 1961 where he proudly served his country for 21 years before retiring as a master sergeant at Carswell Air Force Base in 1982. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2009. David and his family lived in the White Settlement area for 28 years.

David loved God, his country, his family and baseball. He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed umpiring for 25 years. He loved traveling and spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. He enjoyed cheering for the Chicago Cubs and the Texas Rangers.

David was never at a loss for words. His quick wit and dry sense of humor kept everyone around him on their toes. He was an honorable man who cherished his family and friends and has enriched our lives forever. We will miss the twinkle in your eyes and your positive attitude. We love you, Pappa.

The family wishes to thank the Texas Oncology staff of southwest Fort Worth for the wonderful care they gave David over the past two years.
