Ed Jackson, 65, of Buchanan, passed away suddenly, but of natural circumstances, at his residence, on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010.

He was born on Oct. 26, 1944 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Ben and Lilly Bell Jackson.
On Feb. 17, 1978 he married Karen Shandor at a ceremony in Homewood, Illinois.

Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served his country proudly during the Vietnam War.

He worked as a regional director of sales for Marshalls Department Stores for many years. In 1994 he went to work at Walmart, where he was a district manager until his retirement in 2006. 
In the early years Ed and Karen enjoyed traveling the country and occasional casino trips. Both were involved in animal welfare.

Ed was a faithful and devoted member of the Buchanan Seventh-Day Adventist Church and was very active for many years in different capacities. 
Ed’s devotion and faith were not only to the church but evident in his daily life and his relationship with God.

Ed was an incredible, loving and self-sacrificing husband and will be eternally missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in law Christine Shandor, three brothers and two sisters.
Ed is survived by his wife Karen Jackson of Buchanan, two sisters Virginia and Geraldine and nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Buchanan Seventh-Day Adventist Church located at 3115 Niles-Buchanan Road in Buchanan with a time of visitation one hour prior.

An interment will be held on Wednesday at Garden of Peace Cemetery in Whitehall, Pennsylvania.
