CASSOPOLIS — Robert G. Stahl, 86, of Cassopolis, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010 in Riverview Manor, Three Rivers.

He was born Nov. 17, 1923, in Dowagiac to Max and Cleo (Pethick).

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the William E. Lozier VFW Post 10704 and the Efton James American Legion Post 206 of Cassopolis.

Robert is survived by: his sister, Judith Christ, of Bremen, Ind.; nieces, Cindy (Lewis) Whittaker, of Niles, Jennifer (Wayne) Samuels, of Plymouth, Ind., Russelle Grahl, of Cassopolis; as well as several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Stahl.

Family and friends will gather Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Connelly Chapel, Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis from 5 to 8 p.m. His funeral will be Thursday, Aug. 5, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Jeff Oliver, Pleasant View Church of Christ, Cassopolis, will officiate.

The family prefers memorial contributions be made to VFW Post 10704, 131 S. Broadway, Cassopolis, MI 49031.
