Esten E. Tucker, 85, of Lake Street in Niles, died at his home Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 7:50 a.m. following a brief illness.

He was born April 9, 1925 in Manchester, Tenn., to Perry Tucker and Eva Harner.
He lived in Niles since 1945, after coming to the area from Tennessee.

On July 19, 1945, he married Earlene (Rogalle) Tucker in Rossville, Ga., who preceded him in death on Feb. 22, 2004.

He married Kathleen (Rollins) Tucker in August 2004 in Niles. She died on June 15, 2010.
He worked at Simplicity Pattern Company and retired after 35 years in 1985.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Navy, a member of the Papermakers Union Local and enjoyed farming.

He was also preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.

Surviving family includes his son, Jim (Brenda) Tucker of Niles; grandchildren James Eugene Tucker and Rodney Kujawa; great-grandchildren Riley and Keaton Kujawa and great-grandchildren Emelyn and Regan Tucker.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with the Rev. Ronald Smith of Niles officiating.

Burial will take place at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles, an American Flag Presentation will take place at the cemetery by the American Legion Post No. 26 in Niles.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
