Ruth W. Yoquelet came into this world on Jan. 26, 1916, to Emil and Elsie Karsten of Winona, Minn. She passed away on May 28, 2010.
She met and married Cletus Yoquelet in 1935 and had three children, William, Marilyn and Sharon.
She was raised on her father’s dairy farm and loved all the animals.
Over the years she had many dogs she spoiled.
She received her education in Winona.
Ruth loved to cook and bake and worked at Glenwood Inn, Redwood Inn and Ade’s Glass Tap in the Sister Lakes area over a period of 30 years.
Ruth attended Sister Lakes Community Church when she was able and loved the tri-county women’s group that met at the church.
She is survived by: one daughter, Sharon Yoquelet of Decatur; two grandchildren, Joey (Nancy) Andrews III of St. Joseph and Michelle (Scott) Chabitch of Kalamazoo; two great-grandchildren, Joey Andrews IV and Nealie Andrews; her sister, Doris Burns of LaCrosse, Wis.; and nieces, nephews and other family in the LaCrosse area.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; daughter, Marilyn Andrews; son, William Yoquelet; her sister, Margaret; and brothers, George and Edwin.
Ruth passed away on Friday, May 28, 2010, at Lakeland Long Term Center in St. Joseph.
Cremation will take place and a graveside memorial service will be held at a later date with Pastor Doug Cuthbert officiating.
Memorial contributions in Ruth’s name may be directed to the Humane Society or Sister Lakes Community Church.
