Eric Richard Hauch, 81, of Stevensville, passed away Monday, May 10, 2010 at his home.
Eric was born April 10, 1929 in Benton Harbor to William & Lydia (Radke) Hauch. On April 16, 1946 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served until 1949. On May 6, 1950 he married Janet Beck. Eric worked at Benton Harbor Engineering for 24 years as a machinist.  Eric was a member of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Posse and was also a bar manager at the Point of Woods. In his spare time he enjoyed working with wood making and selling log cabin bird houses. He was an avid NASCAR fan. Eric drove stock cars at Millburg race track with Less Williams and Bill Nut.

Eric is survived by his wife, Janet Hauch, of Stevensville; four sons, Michael (Lidy) Hauch, of Coloma, Rick Hauch, of Coloma, Randy (Ann) Hauch, of Coloma and Steve Hauch, of Benton Harbor; two daughters, Cathy Okay, of Niles and Theresa (Bob) Frank, of Watervliet; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Dan (Carol) Hauch, of St. Joseph.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Gary Hauch; brother Elmer Hauch.

A private burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek at a later date.
