Bernadine Bolle, 95, of U.S. Highway 12 East, died at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at West Woods of Niles of an illness.

Arrangements are being completed by Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.

She was born May 7, 1914 in Niles to William H. and Freda Louise (Wadel) Fay. She was raised and lived many years in the North 12th Street neighborhood of Niles. She was employed for several years at Simplicity Pattern Co., Niles.

Bernadine was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Edwardsburg. She enjoyed flower gardening and crocheting, but her greatest interest was her family, including regular visits with her sisters, and caring for her children and their children and grandchildren.

On June 5, 1947 in South Bend, she married Lavern James Bolle, who preceded her in death July 7, 1996. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Hambly, who died in 1998, and Betty Jones, who died in 2007.

Surviving family includes her children, Terry Bolle, of Kalamazoo, Deborah (Steven) Buzzard, of Niles, Randy (Lisa) Bolle, of Edwardsburg, and Stanley (Rita) Bolle, of Niles; grandchildren, Sarah, Amanda, Patrick, Timothy, John, Emily, Melissa, Jeff, Megan and Thomas; great-grandchildren, Cody, Samantha, Jena, Renee and Taylor; and a sister, Bessie Marshall, of Niles.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Bernadine Bolle will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2010 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church by the Rev. Joseph McCormick, O.S.A. Committal rites will follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery, Niles.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles with recitation of the Rosary at 8 p.m. by the Rev. David Otto of Saint Mary Catholic Church, Niles. The family will also receive friends at the church Friday morning, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Contributions in memory of Bernadine Bolle may be made to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church or to Hospice at Home.
