Thelma J. O’Dell, 85, of Union, Mich., died Monday, Feb. 15, 2010 at 3:25 p.m. in Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart, Ind., after a short illness. She was born April 25, 1924 in Union, Mich., the daughter of the late Nelson and Edna (Seward) Cleveland, Sr.

Thelma married Richard F. O’Dell on May 4, 1946 in Bryan, Ohio, and he preceded her in death Sept. 3, 2004. Thelma is survived by two daughters, Dianna Jackson of Elkhart, and Joyce (Alan) Charney of Middlebury, Ind. She is also survived by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two set-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Nelson Cleveland, Jr., and Max Cleveland.

Thelma retired in 1985 from CTS Mfg. in Elkhart. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Union, Mich., a member of the Mason-Union Garden Club, and a member of the CTS Century Club.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Union. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Emilio Martino. Interment will be in Plum Grove Cemetery, Union. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. in the Connelly Funeral Home, Cassopolis.
