T. Ann Orth, 72 / July 19, 1937 – Feb. 9, 2010

T. Ann Orth, 72,of Edwardsburg passed to her rest Tuesday evening, Feb. 9, 2010 at her home after an illness.

She was born July 19, 1937 in Hillsdale County, Mich., the daughter of Thomas Rhys and Neva Ann (Denning) Roberts.

Ann grew up in Hillsdale and graduated from Hillsdale College with a bachelor of arts degree and became a school teacher. She taught in Redding, Mich. then Buchanan before coming to Edwardsburg School System, and retiring in Edwardsburg.

Ann was married June 15, 1957 in Moscow, Mich. to Charles F. Orth and they lived in Hillsdale and Niles, before moving to Edwardsburg in 1965.

Her husband, Charles, survives, with their children, Leslie (Scott) Kruse of White Pigeon, Mich. and Kevin (Michelle Lane) Orth of Cassopolis. There are five loving grandchildren: Kelley Kruse, Zane Kruse, Kristin Kruse, Remy Lane and Ryhs Orth.  Ann has one sister, Margaret Champion of Hillsdale.

Ann was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Elkhart and an active member of the Edwardsburg Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 476, and was “Ada” on the star points.
Memorial services were Sunday at 4 p.m. Feb. 14, 2010 in Hope United Methodist Church, 69941 Elkhart Rd., where friends may call one hour before the service.
Officiating was the Rev. Jeff Reese, pastor, assisted by Sister Nora Frost, deaconess of the Grace Lutheran Church. Other visitation was Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church, where the Order of Eastern Star will present a memorial service Saturday at 7:30 p.m.  Arrangements are under the direction of Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home in Edwardsburg.
