Carl E. Gragg Jr., 58, of Edwardsburg passed to his rest Monday, Feb. 1, 2010 at his home after an illness.

He was born as William Davis III, the son of William and Patricia Davis II, Dec. 24, 1951 in Mishawaka. His mother remarried to Carl E. Gragg Sr., and they adopted Carl E. Gragg Jr.

Carl was a welder for the RV industry and enjoyed driving truck. He was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Army. He was fond of his dog, Sir Nick.

He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Edwards of Thompsonville, Mich.; four grandchildren, Alyson, Micah, Donny and Emily; three brothers, Bob (Sue) Davis of Niles, Ronnie Davis and Danny (Diane) Davis, both of Elkhart; and three sisters, Cindy Davis of Niles, Stormy (Jim) Moore of Elkhart and Michael Ann Gragg of Chicago.
Friends and family may gather from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4 at Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main (U.S. Highway 12) in Edwardsburg, where a service will begin at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Clearence Dycus, retired Baptist minister of Edwardsburg, officiating. The local American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will present military honors after the service.

Cremation will follow all services.
