Robert H. Leach, 89, of Grass Valley, Calif. died Jan. 21, 2010.

He was born May 1, 1920 in Benton Harbor to DeForest and Cecil Leach. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He married Betty on June 8, 1946 in Kalamazoo.

After his military service, he began working for Shell Oil and then continued with Indiana Tanklines, Ruan and Douglas Aircraft hauling space capsules from 1961 to 1966. He then continued his career working for the State of Michigan Department of Transportation. In 1978, he retired and he and Betty moved to California. He enjoyed bowling.

He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Leach of Penn Valley, Calif.; sister, Delores (David) Miller of Manchester, Mo.; sons, Patrick (Susan) Leach of Athol, Idaho, Tim (Barbara) Leac of Stonyford, Calif; daughter, Peggy (Dale) Eslick of Penn Valley, Calif.; grandchildren, Colleen, Shawn, Gary Moore, Ashley, Amy, Jeremy (Christina), Marie and Robbie; great-grandchildren, Austin, Riley and Braydon.

He is preceded in death by his parents, DeForest and Cecil Leach; brothers, Bill, Dick and Don; and a son, Michael Leach.

Per his request, no services will be held. Private internment will take place at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Nevada City.
