Randy A. Greenfield, 57, of South Third Street in Niles died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009 at his home following an illness.

He was born Aug. 5, 1952 in Limestone County, Alabama to Grady Greenfield and Betty Sirten. He graduated from Edwardsburg High School and has lived in this area most of his life.

He was employed for many years at the Bell Plaza Restaurant in Niles. He married Susan M. (Johnson) Greenfield on March 19, 1980 in Niles.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; daughters, Sheri Darnell of South Bend, Candi Johnson of South Bend; brothers, Jerry Greenfield of Edwardsburg and Mike Greenfield of Edwardsburg; sister, Sandy Hawk; and grandchildren, Preston Darnell and Briana Darnell.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Betty Greenfield, and brothers, Walter Greenfield and Kevin Greenfield.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009 at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with Pastor Jeffrey L. Whittaker of Michiana Christian Embassy officiating.

Burial will be held at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles. Friends may call beginning at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
