Theodore L. Feldman, Sr., 76, of Fort Wayne, Ind., formerly of the Edwardsburg area, died on Monday night, Oct. 5, 2009, at his home in Fort Wayne, Ind., after a long illness.

A Service of Remembrance was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg, with the Rev. Joan Riley, a member of the family from Three Rivers.

Burial was at Adamsville Cemetery with the United States Army Honor Guard giving the last rites.

He was born on Oct. 13, 1932, in Nappanee, Ind., the son of the late Lloyd M. and Mildred E. (Robinson) Feldman.

He lived in Elkhart, Ind. before moving to Edwardsburg in 1965. he graduated from Jefferson School.

He worked for Bayer Corporation for about 38 years in the citrus plant as an operator.
On Jan. 24, 1959, in Elkhart, Ind., he married Priscilla “Pat” J. Jones, who survives.
He and his wife moved from Edwardsburg in 1995 to Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was a member of the Miles Quarter Century Club, the Edwardsburg American Legion, former member of the Edwardsburg Snowmobile Club and a member of Union Town Church of Christ, near Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was an avid golfer and for a short time was a substitute bus driver for the Edwardsburg Schools.

He enjoyed his motorcycle and the couple took many trips by motorcycle.

He enjoyed snowmobiling, being a fisherman and hunter, especially around deer season, because he liked to hunt with a bow.

The couple loved to travel and boating, but most of all he loved his family and liked family gatherings.

Surviving family includes his wife Pat; three sons, Theodore (Jacque Yoder) Feldman, Jr. of Elkhart, Ind., David (Mary) Akens of Goshen, Ind. and Rodney Feldman of Worchester, England; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles (Helen) Feldman of Bristol, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Kimberly Dawn in 1970; a son, Frank Akens and a brother, Douglas E. Feldman.
